The company is reportedly looking for people across security, environmental affairs, and retail.
Apple is ramping up its China employee base, according to a new report.
Apple has posted over 200 openings on China's LinkedIn site, looking for a wide range of disciplines, the Wall Street Journal's Digits blog reported on Friday. Apple is specifically looking for people in environmental affairs, security, and retail, according to Digits.
According to Digits, the company's environmental affairs program manager will work out Beijing and "ensure that Apple's products and processes meet and surpass regional and national environmental regulatory requirements."Over the last several years, Apple has been hit hard with complaints by environmental activists who claim production of its devices in China-based manufacturing facilities, including those owned by Foxconn, was harming the environment. Apple has made strides in improving the environmental-friendliness of its products and the practices of its manufacturing partners, and provides continued updates on its efforts in those areas.
Apple is ostensibly hoping to fill those positions as soon as possible. There's no word on what the company is specifically looking for in the other disciplines.
