Alabaman Politician Suggests Legislation In Support Of ‘Duck Dynasty,’ Because Of Course He Did

Alabaman Politician Suggests Legislation In Support Of ‘Duck Dynasty,’ Because Of Course He Did
State Senator Jerry Fielding (you know which party) has proposed a resolution to the Alabaman state legislature that makes no new laws, enacts no change to existing code, and has ZERO policy impact. So, it is of crucial importance to the state of the State for this issue to be addressed.
Sen. Fielding has suggested that the State of Alabama join him (and a large swath of the US) in condemning A&E for suspending Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the “Duck Dynasty” clan, for his Rorschach comments to GQ.
Now, I call Robertson’s comments “Rorschach” because there is nothing I can say here that will change your mind one way or the other. You already have your opinion, and it’s likely different from mine.
But the honorable Senator thinks that the state should waste precious legislative floor time and taxpayers’ dollars to ratify a statement condoning the… ahh.. “unfortunate” comments of a Louisiana native who has been interpreted as being racist and homophobic.
Said Sen. Fielding, reported by The Daily Home:
“Phil Robertson’s family values are shared by the vast majority of Alabamians, who are rightfully concerned by the vitriol aimed at his Christian stance. There’s a clear double standard in the media favoring a liberal worldview. When it’s used to silence and punish Christians for stating their beliefs, that’s when we must defend the rights of individuals to exercise their free speech without fear of politically-motivated repercussion.I join thousands across Alabama and our country by standing with Phil Robertson, and urge A&E to reverse their action against him.”
So, as I understand it, Fielding wants Alabama as a state to officially agree with comments containing thinly veiled bigotry and to scold a company for disassociating itself from an employee who holds such views.
The company is well within its rights to suspend an employee who acts in a manner that they feel disgraces their company (which is in violation of contract).
It’s foolish for this to become an Alabaman political issue when A&E has almost no economic footprint in the state. And going forwards, comparing homosexuality to bestiality and saying that black people were happy during the Jim Crow era are probably things to stay away from during an interview with a nationally syndicated magazine.
There is no persecution of Christian beliefs — had Robertson left it at, for instance, “my religious beliefs forbid me from accepting the sin of homosexuality, though I believe Christ would want me to share brotherly love with someone who is gay,” there would have been no problems.
I know that Robertson says that his family treats everyone with love, but creating hateful comparisons in the same paragraph will undermine that aspect of your message.
In my opinion, the only purpose Senator Fielding’s proposal to the Alabama State legislature serves is to make him more popular with his voting base.
He is gaining a little extra job security by talking about how the Christians of this country are being persecuted, ignoring how the LGBT community has been marginalized forever and still experiences hate daily.

Spoiler Chat: Scoop on The Mentalist, American Horror Story, New Girl and More!

Simon Baker, The Mentalist, Emma Roberts, American Horror Story Coven, Hannah Simmone, New Girl, Grant Gustin, ArrowFX; CBS; CW; Fox

But put down that recipe for a stuffing, turkey and green bean casserole sandwich concoction, because we've got some good intel on
The Mentalist's big Red John episode airing this Sunday. And we've also got an update on a certain New Girlcouple that might enrage certain shippers. All that, plus scoop on American Horror Story: Coven, Arrow, Grey's Anatomy and more in today's Spoiler Chat:Just think everybody: by this time next week you'll be feasting on leftovers and probably nursing a Thanksgiving hangover. If your holiday is anything like ours, then you probably got that hangover after a family board game drove you to drink. It's tradition.

Patrick: Literally counting down the minutes until The Mentalist's big "Red John" episode this Sunday. Please share anything you've got!
Expect the unexpected. Executive producer Bruno Heller says, "I would say after what happened in the previous episode, if you think you know what's happening and you know where it's going, you're wrong." Simon Baker quickly adds, "I wouldn't necessarily say you may be wrong because that might give it away completely!" as for the series post-"Red John," you can expect Patrick and Lisbon's bond to be "even stronger," Baker teases.
Mariah: Cannot believe that AHS went there with Zoe, Madison and Kyle. What's next for that crazy crew?According to Emma Roberts, much more madness. "There is so much happening with Madison onAmerican Horror Story. I can't wait for you guys to see," Roberts gushed to us. "I can't really divulge too much but every week when I get my script, I actually am shocked. So you guys will be probably even more shocked! The twists are out of control and the characters just get better and better." What can possibly be shocking her more than an undead threesome? We can't wait to find out!
Ashton: I'm loving the New York side of Glee (much more than McKinley), but I think it's missing Jesse St. James! Any chance Jonathan Groff would come back to Glee?Sure, just wish for his HBO show to fail. But you wouldn't do that, would you? The Groff tells us that if Looking goes to series, he probably will have zero room in his schedule to make Glee happen. Maybe if Glee moves production to San Francisco, where Looking films…
New GirlAdam Taylor/FOX
Amy: I kind of loved Cece and Coach together on New Girl! Will they continue to date?
Well, since Damon Wayans Jr. is sticking around all season (Huzzah!), you would assume so, right? Creator Liz Meriwether, however, isn't so sure. "I'm not sure if the Cece-Coach relationship is going to go forward. I think it might have just been this one date that they go on," she says. "I think that Cece is just wanting to kind of like get back out there and go on a date with a really hot guy, so I think that's kind of what is going on in her head. "
Clare: Any cute couple stuff coming up on Grey's Anatomy?Derek and Meredith shippers will get a kick out of episode 13, where the episode will involve some trips down memory lane. We're not saying there will be more post-its, but there will be sweet reminders of what MerDer has been though together.
Asher B.: I can't wait to find out more about Stephen's mother on The Tomorrow People! Got anything you can tease?
Secrets, she's definitely got ‘em! "My mom is hiding a lot of things from me, and she's not as innocent as she makes herself out to be," Robbie Amell reveals. "My mom knows more about my father than she's letting on, and a lot of things come to light in episodes 11, 12, and 13. Sarah Clarke is so fantastic, and I read one of the scenes that actually had my jaw on the floor. I am so excited for her, and I can't tell you what it is, but she knows some things that Stephen didn't even know."
Vic: Still can't get over Joss Carter's death on Person of Interest!! Dare I ask what's next?Business as usual. Because the show (and the fight for justice) must go on. Of course her death will affect Reese and the rest of the gang in the next couple of episodes, but not in the way you might think. And there are still wacky criminals to chase down, like one in an upcoming episode who uses her former Olympic training to steal things that not many other criminals could. And Carter fans, dry those eyes. We bet our bottom dollar that she returns via flashbacks.
Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Emily Bett, Arrow The CW
Cody: So excited for Grant Gustin's debut on Arrow! Anything you can tease?
Though he doesn't have any superpowers (yet), Allen will definitely give Team Arrow a run for its money. "He's extremely fast and witty, he's quick," Emily Bett Rickards teases of the forensic scientist. "How he isolates and how Barry moves around Oliver and Felicity and Diggle is just definitely different tactics than what we're used to as a trio."

Spoiler Chat: Scoop on Vampire Diaries, The Blacklist, Arrow, Parenthood and More

Nina Dobrev, James Spader, Lauren Graham, Stephen AmellThe CW; NBC
Today's Spoiler Chat includes scoop on all of the above, as well as some dish on TV's new royals for good measure! Not only do we have some juicy teases onThe Vampire Diaries' big 100th episode and The Blacklist's new character coming in to shake things up, but we've also got inside intel on Arrow's Black Canary/Sarah. Plus, we've learned that a fan favorite is looking to make a return to Parenthood very, very soon and have scoop on The Mindy Project, The Mentalist and more...Vampires, infamous criminals and superheroes, oh my!
Dina: Reign is my new obsession, so I'll take anything you've got to share. I'm not picky!
The castle might as well be as high school hallway as rumors will start circulating that Queen Catherine is having an affair with Nostradamus. But while that would land a girl some nasty whispers behind her back in school, it could lead to a beheading for Catherine. Gulp!

Thomas: So excited to see Tom and Red finally share a scene on The Blacklist! Will we see Tom start interacting with anyone else soon?
Chris: So excited for The Vampire Diaries' 100thepisode! Got any scoop?
Details are mum about the milestone episode, but Olga Fonda, Katherine's daughter Nadia, appears and says it's not to be missed. "Well I can tell you one thing. I can tell you that episode is going to be amazing. It's going to be great. It's going be exciting," she promises. "I can guarantee you that the hundredth episode is going to be
amazing. It's very strong and the TVD fans are going to be very happy." Oh, and we'll be there for the big 100th episode celebration, so send us your questions for Nina, Ian, Paul and the rest of the supernatural gang!
Yes, but not someone you know as Ryan Eggold shares quite the tease for new scene partner: "I shouldn't say too much about this, but potentially further down the road, there is a new character coming on the show that I will be working with a lot," he spills. Any guesses?!
Kelli: Not down with Sarah and Hank on Parenthood. At all. Please give my Mark Cyr-loving heart something to hold onto!
Why don't we let Jason Ritter do that for you instead as he tells us there's a very good chance you'll be seeing Mark again. "There is a chance, not 100 percent sure yet, but there is a good chance," he spills. "I don't want to make any promises in case we decide not to, but so far, so good." Squeal! But given their pretty heartbreaking ending, Ritter says he'd like to see "some kind of resolution" for Mark and Sarah…or to see them "get back together. Who knows?! Maybe a painful understanding ending."
Arrow, Stephen Amell, Caity LotzJack Rowand/The CW
Deb: Loved the reveal of the Black Canary on Arrow! Will we see a romantic connection between Oliver and Sarah?
Given how damaged Sarah is, probably not. "I think she's changed so much that crushes and things like that are not something she feels like she can even afford to have anymore," Caity Lotz explains. She doesn't get that kind of liberties, so I don't think that's really in her mind anymore. That's also another thing we kind of learn more about too is the history of her feelings for Oliver."
Jacinda: So excited to see Anna Gunn on The Mindy Project! Got any more details on her appearance?
Gunn's character Sheila has made a habit of "saving" doctors from what she considers less than ideal medical offices. You see, Gunn will have an uber-hip sidekick named Zandra as her super-chic medical practice who used to work on a cruise line. (Ew!)
Frank: You never give us any spoilers on The Mentalist! Now would be a good time to start!
We couldn't agree more! So how about some scoop on the hunt for Red John? We're narrowing it down," Amanda Righetti teases. "The next episode that airs, Jane gets a new clue as to narrow the list down. Right now, it's seven suspects and I think he gets it down to five."
Veronica: Beauty and the Beast scoop please!
Is Gabe breaking bad…again?! "Questions start to get asked about why he's doing this. OK fine, he wants to make amends and prove he's a good guy, but are there other motives?" Sendhil Ramamurthy previews. "That's what we're getting to now, what we're exploring. Why exactly is he doing what he's doing? Is there an ulterior motive?" Fans can expect to see the series "get into the meat" of that question from episode eight on.

OMG TV Moments: How I Met Your Mother's Heartwarming Proposal, Red's Explosive Past on The Blacklist and More!

How I Met Your MotherRobert Voets/CBS
Spoiler alert! We're about to dig into the biggest, most jaw-dropping moments from Monday night's TV. If you haven't yet watched a particular show, and don't want to be spoiled, skip to the next!
The Blacklist: Compared to last week's mind-blowing episode, tonight's episode was pretty mild. However we were presented with a small but mighty nugget of information from Red's mysterious past. One of Red's people paid double the asking price to buy a house in Maryland. It was a cute little place, but nothing too incredible. It's clear that this house must have meant a lot to Red for him to pay such an extravagant amount.
It turns out that Red raised his family in this house and we watched as he pulled off a board revealing markings where he tracked the growth of his daughter many years ago. It was a very bittersweet moment. Red's henchmen said they have prepared the house and that it is time to go. "I spend every day trying to forget what happened in this house," Red reminisced. "Maybe this will help." And as he pulled away, the house exploded. Sheesh! What the heck happened in that house, Red?

How I Met Your Mother: Finally! After five long Mother-free weeks, devoted HIMYM fans were gifted with another flash-forward featuring Tibba (Cristin Milioti) and Ted (Josh Radnor). (Okay fine. We know that Tibba is not her real name, but that's what it sounds like to us when you've been saying TBA for the past nine seasons.) We hate to admit it, but the wait for The Mother was definitely worth it because tonight's episode gave us something absolutely incredible: Ted's proposal!
Just in case you missed the magical moment here's how it all went down: It's been two years since Barney and Robin's wedding weekend and Ted has decided to take The Mother back to the Far Hampton Inn where it all began. At the tippy-top of what seemed to be the world's most adorable lighthouse, Ted dropped down to one knee and asked, "Will you…?" He couldn't even finish his sentence before his pint-size bride-to-be exclaimed, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Admit it. Who else was like a baby?!
Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, BonesFOX
Bones: After one of the most gorgeous weddings in television history, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) were ready for a little fun, sun, and solving crimes. The newlyweds traveled to Argentina for their honeymoon on this week's episode of Bones and in between all their love-making, (Squee!) the couple still had plenty of time to find out this week's whodunnit.
It turns out that this week's Bones victim was a hidden Nazi who sent thousands to the gas chamber. Ugh. And the killer was… his own granddaughter! It turns out she was actually working with Brennan to try and "solve" the case. Nice try, honey, but you're no match for Booth and Brennan, even when they're supposed to be relaxing on their honeymoon. By the way, who else was in love with those skull cocktail glasses? Too perfect!
Castle: Tonight's episode of Castle was all about bringing our strained father and daughter back together. Alexis' (Molly Quinn) case study and friend, Frank, was on trial for murder and said to be executed in a mere three days. Yikes! So once again, it's Castle (Nathan Fillion) to the rescue. After crossing off what seemed like a dozen suspects from the list, Castle and Alexis combined their brilliance to discover that a cop named Teddy was the real killer. You can all breathe a collective sigh of relief now! Alexis thanked her daddy and her soon-to-be step-momma, Beckett (Stana Katic), for all their help in solving this death row case.
Sleepy HollowBrownie Harris/FOX
Sleepy Hollow: Holy feels, Batman! Yes, we know Ichabod (Tim Mison) is a married man, but we can't help but love the chemistry between our favorite revolutionary war soldier and Abbie (Nicole Beharie). Tonight's outing further fanned our shipper flames by having Abbie on a mission to save Ichabod and everyone noticing just how much he already means to her. And their goodbye when he was going to off himself to stop Headless? Can't. Even. Deal.
And how great was Fringe's John Noble as the powerful yet damaged Sin Eater, the man who saved Ichabod's life? Then again, we'd watch Noble read a book for an hour and still consider it award-worthy material.
Dancing With the Stars: Did you miss tonight's Cher-tastic episode of DWTS? Not to worry, we've got you, babe! It's week eight of the ABC reality competition and the season 17 dancers were determined to show-off their skills to guest judge and performer Cher. Unfortunately, one of the front-runners was bumped out of the competition despite earning a sold 27 points! Find out which guy was eliminated in our Dancing With the Stars mini-recap right here.
.Gif of the Night: Ichabod's attempt to heckle an umpire at a baseball game. Priceless.

OMG TV Moments: The Black Canary’s Shocking Reveal on Arrow, Nashville’s Forbidden Hook-Up and More!

Arrow, Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards Jack Rowand/The CW

The Tomorrow People:
Well that was a whirlwind of awesome! Tonight we learned that one of the tomorrow people can successfully kill! Dun dun duuuunnnn. Oh you tricky evolved person, you! To get caught up on all the jaw-dropping details and prepare you for the awesomeness ahead, check out our interview with the executive producers right here!Spoiler alert! We're about to dig into the biggest, most jaw-dropping moments from Wednesday night's TV. If you haven't yet watched a particular show and don't want to be spoiled, skip to the next!

There's  a new mayor in town by the name of Xavier Reed and he's a bad man who loves to use military-grade weaponry. We're no political advisor, but it's probably best not to have this crazed man running Starling City—one of the most dangerous cities in the history of TV. The Hood (are we still calling him that?!) and the Black Canary took down the mayor, but managed to hold back from killing him—even when he called Sara a bitch. Not cool man.
Arrow: Liar, liar your sexy pants are on fire Oliver McQueen! Tonight we discovered that our handsome hero Ollie has been lying about the death of Laurel's sister Sara. That's right, it turns out that all those years ago on their yacht-joy ride, Sara actually survived the crash and now she's… The Black Canary! Gasp! She's a fierce and deadly badass who targets men who prey on women.
However the mayor still ended up dead by the episodes end when Sebastian Blood (aka Brother Blood) injected him with some kind of serum. It was supposed to turn him into some kind of super solider, but instead he just bled from his eyes and died. It was very gross and very interesting. What are you up to Brother Blood?!
Connie Britton, Will Chase, NashvilleABC/Mark Levine
Nashville: Talk about hot hook-ups! Pretty much everyone on Nashville was getting a little lovin' in tonight's all-new episode. Here's the steamy scorecard: Avery and Scarlett share a steamy lip-lock and then we see a brief in-bed cuddle sesh. Zoe and Gunnar shared a smooch and Deacon and Megan were kissing passionately on his sofa and getting busy. And Rayna and Luke are still a-okay in their little love bubble. But the biggest shock of the night was when Juliette slept with married man Charlie—and his wife walked into the penthouse and saw ev-er-ry thing! Yikes! How are you going to fix this one J?
Revolution: Tonight's episode was arguably the best of the season. After making a public spectacle of Monroe's capture, it's not long before the Texas authorities sentence him to death. Even though Monroe has done absolutely terrible things, we couldn't help but feel a little bad for him as they give him a lethel injection and buried him in a box six feet underground. And just when we thought we had it all figured out, Rachel takes out a shovel and starts to dig him up! Could Monroe still be alive?

OMG TV Moments: A Murderous Reveal on The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time’s Sexy "Hook"-Up and More!

Once Upon a TimeABC/Jack Rowand

The Walking Dead:
The infection in our walker-killing crew has been getting worse and now our very of Glenn has caught the fatal virus. All together now: Noooooooo! Hopefully Hershel can think of some other remedies asap because that tea he painstakingly created didn't seem to be doing the trick. In murder news, Rick calmly confronted someone we've known from the very beginning about David and Karen's murder. And it turns out that in her freakout, Carol killed them! Not cool Carol. Not cool.Spoiler alert! We're about to dig into the biggest, most jaw-dropping moments from Sunday night's TV. If you haven't yet watched a particular show, and don't want to be spoiled, skip to the next!

Once Upon a Time: Welcome back to Neverland fairytale fans! Let's get straight to it: Emma and Hook finally kissed and it was…absolutely exhilarating! So what caused this oh-so sexy lip lock? Emma was thanking Hook for taking Charming to a magical spring, which cured our favorite prince of his dreamshade poisoning. But of course all magic comes with a price, and we soon learned that Charming can never leave Neverland.
And in Operation Save Henry, Emma and Regina devised a plan to use a Lost Boy as a personal delivery service. Regina snatched the heart from the troublemaker's chest and scooted him back to Peter Pan's camp to gibe a compact mirror to Henry. This mirror is actually a visual walkie-talkie and Henry now has a direct line of communication with his family as they continue on their quest to save him.
And always the little brat, Pan appeared to Hook to whisper that Neal is actually on the island and it's up to our Jolly Roger Captain if he's going to reveal the truth to Emma. Want more info on that mesmerizing CaptainSwan kiss? Of course you do! Check out our exclusive interview with the pirate himself, Colin O'Donoguhe right here to find out more about the double meaning to Hook's "As you wish…" and the future of Captain Swan!

The Good Wife, Matt CzuchryDavid Giesbrecht/CBS
The Good Wife: Did you see that?!  What a game changer! Take note every other TV show in America, that is how you create one exceptionally wonderful hour of television. We laughed, we cried, we gasped, and now our jaw hurt from slamming so hard into the floor. To get all the juicy details from tonight's episode of The Good Wife as well as exclusive scoop from sensational star Matt Czuchry click right here!
Homeland: Carrie finally found herself face-to-face with Javadi and according to Saul, everything in the plan is still running smoothly. We'll have to wait til next week to find out what exactly that plan consists of. Oh and while nabbing some road trip essentials at a gas station, Dana discovered that Leo actually killed his brother and Leo totally admitted to committing the family hate crime. Dana turned herself into the police and headed home so she could brood and wallow all by her lonesome.
The Mentalist:  Finally! In this week's all new episode, "The Red Tattoo," Patrick Jane got another major clue as to his identity. So how did he get it? By getting stabbed! When pursuing a pretty private eye who was hired by Red John, Jane was stabbed. Yikes! Not to worry, in this altercation Jane learned that the fleeting Red John has a tattoo of three dots on his shoulder. And the plot thickens!
RevengeABC/Vivian ZInk
Revenge: It was a night of steamy smooches on ABC TV and the chemistry continued on this week's episode of Revenge. So here's what you need to know: Emily confessed to Jack that Aiden works for her, to which he shockingly asked, "Who are you?!" She's a badass Jack. Shouldn't you know that by now? Meanwhile, while Daniel remained pissed at Emily with a capital "P" she managed to win back his affection with a photo of her late parents. Apparently all you need is to be proficient in Photoshop in order to win the sympathy card.
And in Grayson news, Charlotte tried to take the fall for Jack and admitted that she put on her crazy pants and tried to kill her own father. However, the real culprit was –Deep breaths everyone—Patrick! Gasp! Over in the land of lovebirds Emily coos, "Your everything to me," before engaging in a hot make-out sesh. And Nolan and Patrick end the episode hooking up out by the pool. Ahh, To be young and in love and ridiculously wealthy…

Google could have a floating data center in Maine, too

The tech giant is likely building a floating data center in San Francisco Bay. But a very similar project rolled into the harbor in Portland, Maine, earlier this month. The two are definitely connected.
This structure, seen on a barge in Portland, Maine, could well be a Google floating data center. A very similar structure is under construction in San Francisco Bay.
(Credit: John Ewing/Portland Press Herald)
As CNET reported Friday, it looks very much like Google has been building a floating data center made from shipping containers on a barge in the middle of San Francisco Bay. But it may not be the only one of its kind.
Google has not responded to multiple requests for comment. But the project in San Francisco Bay appears likely to be the manifestation of a 2009 patent for a "water-based data center," and would likely leverage the fact that wave energy can provide cheap and plentiful power.
Now it seems as though Google may well have built a sister version of the project, and, according to the Portland Press Herald, it recently showed up in the harbor in Portland, Maine.
In both cases, the structures on both barges appear to be made from a number of shipping containers, many of which have small slats for windows, and each has one container that slants down to ground level at a 45-degree angle.
The registration on the Portland barge is "BAL 0011," which ties it to the barge in San Francisco Bay, which has the registration number "BAL 0010." Both are owned by By and Large, LLC.
(Credit: Tom Bell/Portland Press Herald)
If that wasn't enough to establish that the two are related, it's also clear that both were built on barges owned by the same company. The one in San Francisco Bay was built on top of a barge with the registration "BAL 0010," while the one in Portland harbor is on a barge with the registration "BAL 0011." According to online documents, both are owned by By and Large, LLC. That company, which has a miniscule online profile, is also the current tenant in Hangar 3, an immense building alongside the pier where the San Francisco Bay project is under construction.
The structure that is likely a Google floating data center, on a barge in San Francisco Bay.

Now the question is, if there's one in San Francisco Bay and another in Maine, are there more out there? If you've seen a barge with a large structure that looks like the ones pictured here, please let me know.

Our New TV Obsession: Eleven Reasons We Couldn't Care Less That the CW's Reign Is Fake History

ReignJoss Barratt/The CW

So when the Internet erupted in a ball of fury last week that the CW's
Reign is not historically accurate, we took a good, hard look at our newfound love for this show, and decided: We totally stand by it.Fun fact about Mary Queen of Scots: There weren't many fun facts about her.
Reign—which airs its second episode tonight—is not a history lesson. It is sorta-kindainspired by true events of the 16th Century, but focuses on a 15-year-old Mary (Adelaide Kane) who has just been freed from a convent, to the freedom of life with the French royal family, and is just a girl trying to have fun despite the stoic confines of the monarchy. It is arguably the most ambitious series the CW has ever done, but most importantly, it is so much fun to watch—thanks to, in part, to the writers' determination tonot get bogged down by historical accuracies. In a sea of lackluster new fall TV dramas,Reign (along with  Blacklist) is currently at the tippy top of our must-watch list.
Here are 11 reasons we are obsessed with Reign, and don't mind sticking to history books for history lessons!
1. The Love Triangle: Mary (Kane), the king's son Francis (Toby Regbo), and the king's bastard son Bash (Torrance Coombs) are so wrought with heated chemistry, your retinas might get scorched right out of your eye sockets. (You have been warned.)
ReignMathieu Young/The CW
2. The Hot, Complicated Mess That Is Mary and Francis: While Mary is betrothed to Francis, Francis' heart already belongs to someone else...and our heart belongs to Mary's scandalous attraction to Francis' half-brother, Bash.
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
3. The Hot, Complicated Mess That Is Mary and Bash: They will melt the paint off your walls, so don't freeze-frame them too long.
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
4. The Hair: We guarantee no one looked this well-kempt 500 years ago, unless there were magical fairies who flitted by on pixie dust. Alert the Historical Accuracy Police!
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
5.  The Headbands: We kind of want to quit our day jobs to be extras on the show, just to get one. Totally rational.
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
6. And Did We Mention the Dresses? Just...wow.
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
7. And the Sets? We just want to go there.
ReignJoss Barratt/The CW
8. Adelaide Kane: Arguably the biggest break out star of fall, the Australian newcomer displays a depth of emotion and unshakeable fierceness not seen on most teen shows. "I liked that she was a strong, independent, intelligent young woman in a very difficult time," Adelaide tells us of her role as Mary. "She really has to fight to figure out these murky political waters before she and her friends end up hurt or dead." (See our exclusive video interview, in which Kane also describes her struggle with anxiety, here.)

9. The Angst: And you thought Gossip Girl gave good angst? Well, how about some truly plausible, life-or-death teen angst, courtesy of an entire nation and a queen trying to kill her? "If Mary slips up once politically, she will end up with a knife in her back in a dark alley," Kane tells us. "She has the English trying to kill her and then she has an enemy in French court that she has to dodge…She's threated on all sides. She's sieged on all sides." Kind of makes those Upper East Side party "crises" seem like toddler play.

10. The Parties: A Scottish jig amid falling feathers is pretty much the coolest teen-girls-dancing-at-a-party moment we've ever seen. Not to disparage The O.C.'s pool parties, but just look at it.

11. The Pretty. Did we mention we are fans of the way this show looks? Yes, yes, yes, the story is rich and the plot twists are smart, etc, but it's just so hard to take your eyes off how gorgeous this show is. We'd say more, but we're too busy twirling our hair, trying to figure out how to do these styles so…gotta go.

Pretty Little Liars Boss Spills Scoop on Ali's "Remorseful" Return, Hope for Ezria's Love, Twin Theories and More!

Pretty Little Liars, OMG Moments, Season 3ABC Family

Last night, fans of the hit series
Pretty Little Liars were absolutely shocked to find out that Alison Dilarentis—a girl who was presumed to be dead for the past four years—has been secretly hiding out amongst the land of the living. That's right, our formerly ruthless and vindictive queen bee is actually alive. Gasp!Put away your Ouija board and cancel that séance—our little liar is back from the dead!
Now we're left wondering what's coming up next for our fierce foursome when the season returns in January. To help curb your curiosity, we had a nice long chat with executive producer Oliver Goldstick and he graciously gave us exclusive answers to your most burning PLL questions.

Finally we all know that Ali is actually alive! How long have you all been plotting to reveal that she is not actually dead?
Oliver Goldstick:
For some time, actually. We basically had ideas last year about strong hints. And with our girls almost all of them have had delusional states and we always wanted to make it clear that these scenes with Ali (Sasha Pieterse) could be very real. Emily (Shay Mitchell) had that outside the barn with that asphyxiation. We had Spencer (Troian Bellisario) with the painkillers on her couch and Alison going through her bag. We had Aria (Lucy Hale) in her bedroom on cold medicine, and Hanna (Ashley Benson) in the hospital after being hit by a car.
All of them have had their encounters with Alison. We've been spreading this out, hinting to the audience and teasing was that a vision or did she really appear? What she's so good at though is knowing when they're so drugged up enough to make an appearance. [Laughs.]
Does anyone else, besides our liars, know that Alison is alive?
No. No, no no, by no means no. This is very privileged information and as we sort of hinted at last night, she isn't safe. The idea is she's sharing this with them but she's still on the run because there's still somebody after her.
Can we trust Ali?
That's a good question. Yes, because I think she has grown. You'll see in her appearances in 4B when she returns there's some remorse and some conscience that she didn't possess in the flashbacks that we've seen. There is some remorse about her behavior which led to the situation that she's in.

How quickly will the liars catch on to Ezra's wicked ways?
There's a piece of evidence that surfaces in the season 4B opener. The girls will utilize this information for at least six or seven episodes to help them unravel the mystery of Alison's summer before she disappeared—and Mr. Fitz will figure into that as well.
Let's talk about Aria, how long can she possible stay in the dark from the knowledge that Ezra is A?
Aria may live in a country called denial. [Laughs] She's in love with this man, but after a while some things are going to break down where she has to acknowledge that something is wrong and her friends may find out things before she does. We always love the idea of sleeping with the enemy, we've done that before on the show. The idea is you're the last to find out, when it comes to the person that you're most intimate with, but she will find out. She won't be in the dark forever.
Lucy recently told us that Aria is going to go a little crazy this season. Is she going to pull a Spencer and end up in Radley?
Oh boy. [Laughs] Well, there's no shock treatments involved, there's no Vaseline on her temples and no one is having to bite down on anything. But yes, she will unravel and she will come undone, and for good reason! I think it's completely justified when she does.

A lot of the fans are saying that Aria has never felt the full wrath of "A" because Ezra may have been playing favorites. Would you agree with that?
Oh, that's great you should say that! That's a great observation because there were two years when there were a lot of fans saying Aria was "A." They said she had not suffered as bad as the others, but of course if you look back she did suffer a great deal in the first season. The whole thing with her parents and her mother being told [about the affair], A was pretty wicked with Aria in season one. Don't worry, she'll suffer enough. In 4B, she gets her due.
Can Ezria fans still hold onto hope for this couple?
I would say to them don't abandon the show just yet, because maybe they can hold out hope. Look, Alison was certainly a despicable character who you're going to see has some real remorse and turn-around. Just wait, let's see what happens with him before one writes him off and dismisses him as pure evil.
Speaking of pure evil, we have a theory that perhaps Ezra could have an evil twin. It was difficult to tell if he was in the soldier costume when he was on the phone with Aria. Could this be a possibility or is it too off-the-wall?
This is great stuff! That's very imaginative and smart. No, that is not completely off the wall I think it's really interesting and intriguing. He was in the soldiers costume though, Ezra was there. That's a great great theory, but just remember that you have met his mother, you've met Wes, you've met the family, you've met Maggie, we have shed some light on Ezra's family. It's a good theory though, I would definitely hold onto it, there could always be some look-alike named Elliot out there. [Laughs.]

Let's clarify the A chain of command: Is it safe to assume that Ezra is at the tippy top as the overall boss?
Yes, I'm going to say yes, it's safe to assume.
Is Ali scared of only one particular person, like Ezra, or could she be fearful of an entire group?
Oh that's a great question! That's a really great question. I feel like in her mind and because of her behavior and who she was, there must be more than one person because she has screwed over and double crossed quite a few people. So I'm sure in her darkest moments she believe that there is a group of people who might be after her.
Speaking of people that she has double crossed, last season we got a really interesting flashback with Ali and Toby and we learned more about their history. Could we possibly be seeing Toby and Ali sharing any scenes together this season?
That's a great question; you've got a lot of great questions today! No, what you just mentioned is what we're talking about for season five. Really one of the things we're excited about is the possibility of Toby and Alison in the present and what that really means, so you've hit the motherload. That's a topic that we're really excited to mine.
Pretty Little Liars, HalloweenABC FAMILY/Eric McCandless
Let's talk about Spencer and Toby, how will their relationship be tested this season?
It's not easy and it's not smooth sailing, that's all I can tell you. They hit a bump, and a wave. It's not a tsunami, but they are in some treacherous water because Toby is continuing to persue the mystery of his mother and that kind of hits a wall in 4B and he and Spencer may not be on the same page with the choice that he makes. And that's the real bump in their relationship.
Now that the liars know that Ali is alive, will they share this information with their significant others?
No, they can't share this. This will put all the girls in a awkward situation with their lovers because the stakes are high if they share this, so none of them are able to do that. This then puts a strain on every one of their relationships—Hanna and Caleb, Paige and Emily, Spencer and Toby, Aria and Fitz.
Don't miss the return of Pretty Little Liar's fourth season Tuesday, Jan. 7 on ABC Family!
Why do you think Ali is so afraid of Ezra? Do you think there's hope for Ezria's future? What are you most looking forward to in the winter premiere?
