2013 American Music Awards: The Best, Worst and Jaw Dropping Moments!

Rihanna, 2013 American Music AwardsKevin Mazur/AMA2013/WireImage
This year's American Music Awards was packed with moments that made us swoon, made us cheer, and made us stare at the screen in confusion.
From Rihanna's Icon Award win to Lady Gaga and R.Kelly's performance and Miley Cyrus's puzzling animated kitten, there were many memorable moments to be had.
Check out our picks for the best, worst and jaw dropping scenes from the 2013 American Music Awards!ut.
The Best:
Rihanna's Touching Moment With Her Mom: We're still a little puzzled over why Bill Maher introduced the "Stay" crooner to the stage for her soulful rendition of "Diamonds," but there was a super sweet moment to be had after Rihanna stunned in a black gown during her performance of the song. When the singer stepped on stage to pick up the AMAs first-ever Icon Award, her mom came out carrying the trophy.
"I'm so proud of you," her mom, Monica Braithwaite, said. "I know your journey hasn't been an easy one, but tonight I admire and applaud you for being so strong and so positive and so humble and so focused. It's amazing how you manage to take good from all your experiences."
Justin Timberlake's Boredom: The "TKO" crooner looked super bored in the audience in the midst of Pitbull's nostalgic show opener. "It's a Miracle I'm here tonight," Pitbull said. The camera soon cut to Timberlake looking aloof and clapping slowly in the audience. He miraculously came to life though when he won Favorite Pop/Rock male, telling Taylor Swift she looked "lovely tonight" as he accepted the award from her. He went on to completely own the show winning Favorite male R&B/Soul Artist, Favorite male Pop/Rock artist and Favorite R&B/Soul Album for The 20/20 Experience

One Direction, 2013 American Music AwardsABC/Matt Brown
Jennifer Lopez's Celia Cruz Tribute: Dressed up in a colorful flamenco-style dress to pay tribute to the late salsa icon, J.Lo hit the stage with a gaggle of dancers for a performance that caused the audience to leap to their feet.
One Direction's First Big Win: Taylor and her ex-Harry Styles went head to head for favorite pop/rock album, with the boy band taking home the award in the end. The nod was particularly special to the group considering it was their first time at the AMAs and their first win.

Pitbull's Twerking Contest
: We don't know if Pitbull was having a twerking contest orwhat, but when he brought four ladies clad in black onesies on the stage to do a few dance moves, (the Doo Doo Brown, etc.) a very awkward moment ensued. The Worst:
Lady Gaga and R. Kelly (President Robert)'s Performance: In what looked like a "Trapped in the Closet" reboot, R. Kelly sang his way through "Do What You Want" as President Robert, while Mother Monster crooned the duet dressed as what appeared to be Marilyn Monroe. Never one to put on a tame performance, the pop star ended up getting straddled by R. Kelly before the show was done.

The Talking Cat in Miley Cyrus' performance background:
What does a talking (and crying) kitten have to do with a wrecking ball? We're not sure. That aside, the singer hit the stage rocking a very high cut-out leotard with kittens all over it and performed in front of a backdrop that had a huge anime kitten in it. ABC did its best to cut around her barely-there onesie. The Jaw Dropper:

British GQ is celebrating its 25th anniversary and for the occasion enlisted superstar artist Damien Hirst and singer Rihanna for its cover. The artist went ahead and created a Medusa inspired spread, with snakes crawling around the body and head of the singer. Even Rihanna’s eyes have been given the animal treatment, resulting in an overall surreal photoshoot and over, that even carries the Hirst signature, just like one his paintings. The December 2013 issue of British GQ should be hitting newsstands in the coming weeks.

Rihanna Says She Hates the Paparazzi "More Than the Nazi"

Rihanna, InstagramInstagram
Attention paparazzi: Rihanna doesn't like you very much. Actually, she doesn't like you at all.
The singing super star seemingly took a jab at the shutterbugs on Instagram today, when she posted a very somber photo of herself wrapped up in a blanket and looking outside the window of an Auckland hotel in New Zealand with the caption, "I hate these n---az more than the Nazi."
Does that line sound familiar? It's actually a lyric from Kanye West's 2007 hit track "Flashing Lights."
But it's not just the paps that have been on Rihanna's mind.
E! News has learned that police have arrested Jonathan Wooper after he reportedly scaled the wall at the R&B superstar's Los Angeles estate Friday morning.
Rihanna's security team spotted the alleged infiltrator and alerted the cops who took the man into custody at 11 a.m. approximately a mile from the home.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the only scary event at the star's home. According to the police report, there was another attempted break-in at RiRi's residence in late September, in which a would-be burglar had tried to throw a chair through a window, but he managed to get away.
Authorities are now investigating whether the two men are one and the same.

Scarlett Johansson Named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive for the Second Time in Seven Years

Scarlett Johansson, Esquire MagazineEsquire
Scarlett Johansson is bringing sexy back to the pages of Esquire. The magazine has named the Don Jon star the Sexiest Woman Alive for the second time in seven years, making her the first woman to ever win the title twice. Johansson looks sultry as ever on the November cover, posing in a sheer tank top, a gray bra, silk shorts and high heels.
The 28-year-old beauty first earned the title in 2006, and since then, a lot has changed. Johansson married and divorced Ryan Reynolds; won a Tony Award for her performance in A View from the Bridge; costarred in the third highest-grossing movie of all-time, The Avengers; and got engaged to ad exec Romain Dauriac.
Johansson maintains a sense of humor about her Esquire honor, telling the mag, "I'm the only woman to win twice right? You know, I gotta hustle. I'm a 28-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you're offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work-theater, producing; this thing with Esquire."
In the same interview, the Vicky Cristina Barcelona star also compares her relationship with Reynolds to her romance with Dauriac. "I didn't think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only," Johansson reveals. "I think maybe in the past I didn't have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn't capable of it or caring that much."
The November issue of Esquire hits newsstands Oct. 15. Previous Sexiest Women Alive include Mila Kunis (2012), Rihanna (2011), Minka Kelly (2010), Kate Bekinsale (2009),Halle Berry (2008), Charlize Theron (2007) and Jessica Biel (2005).

Chris Brown Says He Lost His Virginity at 8 Years Old, Slams His Latest Community Service Order

Chris Brown, GrammysJordan Strauss/Invision/AP
Chris Brown is getting candid.
In an interview with the UK Guardian, the 24-year-old "Love More" crooner opened up about losing his virginity at a really early age, his infamous beating incident with Rihanna and why he thinks his latest community service order is a "b-tch."
Brown, who lost his virginity at age eight to a girl who was 14 or 15, told the mag with a chuckle, "It's different in the country," adding that he and his friends watched a lot of porn. "By that point, we were already kind of like hot to trot, you know what I'm saying? Like, girls, we weren't afraid to talk to them; I wasn't afraid. So, at eight, being able to do it, it kind of preps you for the long run, so you can be a beast at it. You can be the best at it."
The singer also knew early on that he wanted to be a singer, and was discovered by a record producer when he was only 13.
While Brown's career took off when he released his double-platinum debut album Chris Brown at 15, things took a turn for the worst in February 2009 when the Battle of the Yearstar got into a physical altercation with his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown called the incident "probably the biggest wake-up call for me," saying, "I had to stop acting like a little teenager, a crazy, wild young guy."
Since that incident, he has gone on to win a Grammy, and release three more albums, saying he wanted to prove people wrong—that he could make a comeback after it.

And although it seems he accomplished that goal, Brown hit another snag in August whena judge revoked his probation and gave him 1,000 additional hours of community service after he was involved in a hit-and-run accident earlier this summer.
Referring to the judge's "comprise" ruling as vindictive, Brown said, "Community service, that sh-t is a b-tch. I'll be honest – and you can quote me on that – that is a motherf--ker there. For me, I think it's more of a power trip for the DA. I can speak freely now, because I don't really care what they say about it, but as far as, like, the 1,000 extra hours they gave me, that's totally fricking bananas."
"They want me to be the example," Brown went on. "Young black kids don't have the fairer chances. You can see Lindsay Lohan in and out of court every day, you see Charlie Sheen, whoever else, do what they want to do."
"There hasn't been any incident that I started since I got on probation, even with the Frank Ocean fight, the Drake situation, all those were defense modes," he went on. "People think I just walk around as the aggressor, this mad black guy, this angry, young, troubled kid, but I'm not. I'm more and more laid-back. It's just that people know if they push a button, it'll make more news than their music. Attaching themselves to me, good or bad, will benefit them."
As far as where Brown sees himself in the future, he said he wants to be "wealthy" and "sell ground-breaking numbers on an album."
Perhaps that success will come with his next album, X, which he describes as "musically sound, diverse" with a "lot of different genres attached."
X is set to hit stores Nov. 19.
