The 7 Essential Lessons About Selfies From The King Of The Trend, James Franco

The 7 Essential Lessons About Selfies From The King Of The Trend, James Franco
Whether you like it or not, selfies have become an international phenomenon. They plague our Instagram feeds and force us to question the future of humanity. Oxford dictionary has even gone so far as to declare selfie the world of 2013! Jesus effing Christ — what is happening to us? When did it become socially acceptable to become this vain?
I’ll bet you think this post is about you. Don’t you? Don’t you?
Well, it’s time for all to hail James Franco and his incessant selfie uploads as the star recently took to the NY Times to express himself about his new favorite pastime. He tries to teach valuable lessons throughout his article and shed light on this never-going-away fad.
Let’s take a look at what we learned about selfies through the knowledge imparted by James Franco.

1. Selfies get your more followers.

Evidently, selfies gain more followers and honestly that can be true. I know I follow certain people on Instagram just to laugh at their selfies — I can’t be the only person out there who does that. Franco has other motives backing this reason, believing it gives you a way to see the user in a different way.

2. Selfies get you more “likes.”

Posting a selfie shows courage and bravery! Doesn’t it? “The likes spin out of control for selfies of me and my two handsome brothers, especially Dave, the other actor, whose image pulls in its own legion of teenage fans.”

3. “Photos of art projects; videos telling the haters to go away (in not so many words); and photos with poems” will make you lose followers

So basically, Franco figured out what will and what won’t get you the attention you want from your Instagram uploads. Don’t post the homemade birdhouse you built for your brother for Christmas and definitely do not post any poems you’ve written in English class.

4. Attention is power.

In this day and age, it’s not about looks, it’s about likes. The more likes you have the more power over your peers you have — at least that’s what James Franco is trying to explain.

5. The one-for-one phenomenon.

Franco made a great point in his article, “for every photo of a book, painting or poem, I try to post a selfie with a puppy, a topless selfie or a selfie with Seth Rogen, because these are all things that are generally liked.”

6. Shows what you’re doing in real time.

As Franco so eloquently put it, “Selfies are tools of communication more than marks of vanity.”  The selfie allows people to express how they feel and what they’re doing in one image rather than via verbal communication.

7. Great introduction.

Franco actually becomes upset when an account he looks at doesn’t have any selfies. Why? Because he doesn’t feel as if he can garner a true sense of who this person is.

Told You Mom! The 9 Smartest People Who Smoke Weed

Told You Mom! The 9 Smartest People Who Smoke Weed
We all remember that fateful day when Steve Jobs admitted to taking acid. Moreover, he didn’t just admit to it, he advocated for it; preaching to students and alum that all people who want to open their minds and free themselves creatively should have at least one good tripDrug addicts and stoners alike rejoiced, because they know that anyone taking acid most definitely smokes weed. It really was one small step for acid, one giant step for pot.
Once the tech entrepreneur admitted to taking drugs, it seemed okay for everyone else to admit to it. I mean, if this man was singlehandedly changing the world while high, why can’t we admit to smoking the reefer? Thus, the acceptance of marijuana was born — as long as you were smart enough to back it up.
There’s a common misconception that weed makes kids dopey and lazy. However, anyone who smokes knows that weed makes you smarter. Of course there are those cases of the burn outs, but the motivated ones are able to use bud as an enhancer. So anytime your parents are complaining about how weed is going to ruin your future, remind them that the mostbrilliant minds of our time wouldn’t have achieved anything without the help of the herb.

You can’t write lyrics like a God without the power of the herb. He also must have been smoking something when he named his baby Blue Ivy.

Our favorite actress admitted to smoking weed while in college… at just a little school by the name of Harvard.

Morgan Freeman

He openly admits that weed should be decriminalized, and he’s the only actor esteemed enough to play God. That’s gotta count for something.

James Franco And Seth Rogen Team Up To Recreate Kim And Kanye’s ‘Bound 2′ Video, Scene By Scene (Video)
Last week, Kanye West released his music video for “Bound 2,” which features a topless Kim Kardashian straddling Kanye on a motorcycle. Why? Because Kanye.
Well, actors James Franco and Seth Rogen have decided to create a parody video scene by scene. Franco portrays Kanye West while Rogen embodies his inner Kim K.
According to The Daily Beast, “While on the set of their movie, ‘The Interview,’ James Franco & Seth Rogen felt inspired to recreate their favorite new video. Shot. For. Shot.”
Check out the parody below followed by a side-by-side comparison with the original.

Honestly, the parody sh*ts on the original. Why? Because James Franco, of course.

James Franco, InstagramInstagram
Tragedy struck at Los Angeles International Airport today inside Terminal 3 when gunfire opened up, injuring multiple people.
Reports are also saying that a suspect was shot by law enforcement shortly after gunfire opened, and was taken into police custody. A press conference was held at 11:30 a.m. which explained that there were numerous injuries, but did not go into full detail about the suspect or number of people hurt.
In a strange twist, Mythbusters stars Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara were actually inside the terminal at the time of the shooting. Both took to Twitter to live-tweet the scary ordeal, and snapped photos of the scene as the entire event unfolded.
"Something crazy is going down at LAX," Tory initially wrote. "People running everywhere. We just got evacuated."
