The Top 25 Places People Checked In On Facebook In 2013 Shows The Most Popular Destination In The World

Going on vacation seems to be less and less about having a good time and more for checking in somewhere on social media to improve clout to those who follow our lives online.

To prove this, Facebook has listed the 25 most checked-in places on the massive social network, from Disneyland in Anaheim, California, to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa.

From sporting arenas to popular city squares, the list shows some of the most famous places all over the world.

Of the top 25 places, the common theme seems to be Disney, as four Disney theme parks made the list, from California,Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong, proving people want to see Mickey Mouse and friends all over the globe.

One thing that stands out about the list is there isn’t a check-in from New York City on the list, and this may be due to the fact that there isn’t one central location in which people would check in.

Here are the top 25 places people checked in during 2013, according to Facebook:

Manny Pacquiao payout: 'Pac Man' to bank $18 million tax-less purse for Brandon Rios fight

That's a whole lot of cash that won't be taxed in the U.S.

Manny Pacquiao may be one of the greatest boxers who ever laced up a pair of gloves but his exploits inside in the ring are rivaled only by his cavalier attitude towards his business dealings outside it.

In short, he's terrible with money.

That's why it's no surprise, then, that he would leave the not-so friendly confines of Las Vegas, Nevada, for his fight against Brandon Rios later on this evening (Sat., Nov. 23, 2013) at The Venetian in Macau, China. Why?

Because taxes are far more lenient there.

Forbes explains:

...Pacquiao choosing to take his talents to China, where he is hugely popular and, more importantly, the top marginal tax rate is only 12 percent. Because Pacquiao is neither a U.S. resident nor a citizen, he will not pay U.S. tax on any money earned from the fight, allowing him to pocket an extra 28 percent of the purse.

In simple terms, if Pacquiao rakes in $25 million from the Rios fight, holding the match in China will allow him to walk away with $22 million, while a Vegas bout would have left him with only $15 million.

Pacquiao is set to rake in $18 million for tonight, so you can do the math on that and see exactly why he decided to head across the world for his next showcase.

Earlier this year, ESPN went into detail on how dire "Pacman's" financial situation is:

"From what I can gather, Manny really can't be bothered with the minutiae of finance and keeping track of all his funds," said Lerner, who has known Pacquiao since he was a six-round fighter. "After years of spending like there was no tomorrow, it appears that tomorrow has come and Manny is in need of cash. He still has a lot of upkeep on his properties and businesses, and many people are relying on him to further their political careers. Manny has a hard time saying no, and people everywhere still constantly besiege him for help."

Although Pacquiao has apparently shed the hard-core gamblers who once surrounded him, a new group is draining the coffers. Pastors and other religious types have thoroughly ingratiated themselves, and Manny is said to have given heaps of cash for ministries and infrastructure projects related to their churches. He also foots the bill for the printing of thousands of bibles and the holding of massive religious rallies in expensive stadiums.

Yet Pacquiao's biggest single expense is his political career. He spent an estimated $6.6 million on his successful 2010 campaign to become the congressional representative of the district of Sarangani. In the latest election, which closed last week, Manny ran unopposed and consequently spent considerably less. Even so, wife Jinkee and brother Rogelio also ran for office (Jinkee won; Rogelio lost), and it cost Pacquiao approximately $2 million to finance the campaigns.

"Manny has clearly lost the zeal for boxing that he once had," Lerner said. "Before, he used to fight for the love of fighting, and the money seemed secondary. Now he is obviously fighting for only one reason: money."

Perhaps he is just fighting for money and maybe that has contributed to his losing his last two fights, a disputed decision to Timothy Bradley and a crushing knockout at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez.

JUSTIN BIEBER STEPS OUT IN LOS ANGELES DURING BREAK FROM "BELIEVE" TOUR

Following the eventful South American leg of his "Believe" tour, Justin Bieber took some time to relax in the States.

The Biebs hit the streets of West Hollywood, Calif. with friends Saturday, getting some retail therapy in at the shops in the neighborhood.

Although he was off tour duties for the moment, the "Boyfriend" crooner made sure to take some photos with a couple of young female fans who approached him on the way back to his car.

And the singer could certainly use a mellow day.

The latest sighting of Bieber comes hours after the 19-year-old entertainer's neighbors called police to his Calabasas home for loud music that was playing during a party in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Prior to that, he angered his Argentinean fans when a video surfaced which showed him sweeping the country's flag offstage Nov. 9.

Bieber seems to still be in good spirits in spite of those incidences, though.

In addition to his day of shopping, he's been busy promoting the upcoming release of his flick "Believe," which hits theaters Christmas day.

His "Believe" tour picks up again Monday in Mexico City.

Justin Bieber Kicked Out of Hotel in Argentina: Report

Justin Bieber is keeping his head up in spite of a particularly crazy week.

After reportedly getting kicked out of his hotel room in Argentina Saturday due to rowdy Beliebers causing a ruckus outside, the superstar singer took to Twitter to address his fans and still show love for the South American country.

"to all my fans at the hotel. thank u. i love u. but please calm down and respect the police. we dont want anyone gettting hurt," he tweeted Saturday, adding, "im at the stadium now. come here. Argentina it is about to be a great night. te amo.#BelieveTour Argentina Day 2."

"Argentina is crazy," he continued. "i love it."

According to TMZ, officials at the Hotel Faena got fed up after fans camping outside reportedly destroyed hotel property, even tearing down police barricades.

Hotel Faena reps told E! News Bieber is no longer staying at the hotel, but wouldn't confirm whether or not they kicked him out.

Speaking of crazy incidences, news of Bieber's hotel trouble comes just a day after he was charged with vandalism for spray-painting graffiti in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Prior to that, he was filmed sleeping in bed by a 26-year-old Brazilian woman--and in less than 24 hours the video went viral.

Leaked video aside, the "Boyfriend crooner" did have a bit of luck when it came down to the spray painting incident.  Rather than head to jail, the Biebs won't be arrested and will pay a fine instead.

In the midst of all that drama, Bieber is pressing on with the South American portion of his "Believe" world tour, performing today and Sunday in Buenos Aires and then in Santiago, Chile Tuesday before he heads to Mexico City.
